Deputy Prime Minister: Trees planted today to improve ecological condition of Azerbaijan

"This date can be called a special day in the history of Azerbaijan’s ecology. 650,000 trees will be planted in one day on the initiative of First Vice President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva in connection with the 650th anniversary of the great poet Imadaddin Nasimi," Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov told journalists.

He said that citizens welcomed the initiative of Mehriban Aliyeva with great enthusiasm: "People in most villages and settlements of Azerbaijan joined the campaign with great enthusiasm and supported planting green strips and trees. Newly planted trees will improve the ecological condition of Azerbaijan."

Ahmadov noted that in a few years these trees will grow and the green stripes will cover more area: "The trees planted today will contribute to the improvement of nature. Large-scale construction and renovation work is underway in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. Favorable conditions are created for the population. One of the important components is to ensure that people live in good environmental conditions and in clean air. Planting these trees serves that purpose."
