13 ecological projects presented for Azerbaijan’s Khankandi and Aghdara

In 2024, 273 ecological projects have been implemented in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur, while 13 projects have been presented for Khankandi and Aghdara, Mirsalam Ganbarov, Chairman of the Board of the State Ecological Expertise Agency of Azerbaijan, during the working group meeting on ecological issues, Report informs.

The agency chairman noted that over two years, the damage to the forest fund alone amounts to more than 15 million manats for Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur:

"Until now, the implementation and evaluation of projects have been carried out in parallel. Such problems arise because the assessment by relevant authorities was not properly conducted. Projects should be coordinated with all state bodies before implementation begins. When assessment is not done properly, even after the project is completed, ecological consequences emerge years later."
