Unemployment rate in Azerbaijan reduced to 5-6%, president says

Azerbaijan has managed to reduce the unemployment level to 5-6%, President Ilham Aliyev said, speaking at the Azerbaijani-Lithuanian business forum, Report informs.

"But to maintain its low level, we need to create new jobs every year, because the population of Azerbaijan has increased from 7 million to 10 million throughout 30 years, since gaining independence and up to date, and it is growing today too. Therefore, we must have jobs for more people," the head of state said.
