Baku. 7 December. REPORT.AZ/ The parameters of the territory allocated for construction of cemeteries will be set at 0.24 hectares per 1000 people, as reflected in the newly approved 'Rules of setting and managing cemeteries'.

Report informs that under the Regulations, the territories intended for cemeteries around residential settlements, cities, districts and rural areas are allocated on provision that the minimal sanitary protection zone between the cemetery areas and residential and public buildings, food and agricultural production enterprises makes 300 meters.

After 25 years following the last burial at a cemetery that was declared closed, the distance between the cemetery and a residential district can be reduced to 100 meters based on the opinion of the Ministry of Health

The construction of residential and public buildings, agricultural facilities and enterprises for the production of food products, as well as water supply facilities for household and drinking needs is prohibited in the territories covered by the sanitary protection zone of existing and projected cemeteries.
