No Azerbaijani among US coronavirus deaths

The number of coronavirus deaths has exceeded 40,000 in the US. According to the Azerbaijani Embassy in the US, there are also Azerbaijanis among the infected people in this country. Local and federal governments have been appealed to confirm the count.

The Azerbaijani citizens living in New York, Vermont, Arizona, Florida, Ohio, Connecticut, Nevada, Texas, and Illinois keep in touch with each other on social media and provide the necessary support. Currently, about 30 Azerbaijani organizations are operating in the US.

“According to the latest data, over 800 infections have been reported in the state, of which 20 died and 175 recovered. Fortunately, there are no Azerbaijanis among the infected and dead,” Head of the Azerbaijani community in the US state of Maine Tarlan Ahmadov told Report.

“We always stay in touch with Azerbaijani families and students in the state. I urge all our compatriots not to leave home to stay healthy. Hopefully, we will return to our normal lives soon,” Ahmadov said.
