Novruz holiday celebrated in capital of Latvia

An event on the occasion of the Novruz holiday has been held in Riga, organized jointly by the embassies of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan, Report informs referring to the Azerbaijani Embassy in Latvia.

The event was held at the Art Museum Riga Bourse, which is one of the significant architectural monuments of Latvia and a famous cultural center of the country.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Latvia Elnur Sultanov congratulated all those present on the holiday. He noted that the event, jointly organized by embassies representing a family of Turkic-speaking countries with common roots, plays the role of a cultural bridge between the Turkic world and Latvia.

Elnur Sultanov reminded that the Novruz holiday, included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, embodies the ancient traditions and national identity of the Azerbaijani people.

The ambassador emphasized the special significance for the Azerbaijani people of the celebration of Novruz this year, when this holiday is celebrated for the first time throughout Azerbaijan, which has fully restored the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan Dauren Karipov, Ambassador of Türkiye Sule Oztunc and Chargé d'Affaires of Uzbekistan in Latvia Akrom Khojaev also delivered congratulations on the occasion of Novruz holiday.
