Shahin Mustafayev: Azerbaijan keen to launch direct flights to other Iran cities

Baku. 1 December. REPORT.AZ/ Minister of Economy, Co-chairman of Azerbaijan-Iran State Commission on Economic, Trade and Humanitarian Issues Shahin Mustafayev met with Minister of Communication and Information Technologies of Iran, Co-chairman of the Azerbaijan-Iran State Commission, Mahmud Vaezi.

Report was informed in Ministry of Economy, the sides talked over the 11th meeting of Azerbaijan-Iran State Commission on Economic, Trade and Humanitarian Issues and Azerbaijan-Iran business forum to be held within the visit of Iranian delegation to Azerbaijan, December 26-28, as well as other issues of mutual interest.

S.Mustafayev underlined high level political relations between Azerbaijan and Iran and noted that cooperation will continue in all fields. Expressing his opinion on possibility to expand cooperation in health, finance, banking, transportation, trade sectors, the minister told that construction of 8.3km part of railway close to Iranian border is about to finish: “Number of countries show interest to transport corridor. Trading ties between Azerbaijan and Iran is developing and there is a huge potential to expand cooperation in this field. Azerbaijan is keen to raise number of flights between Baku and Tehran and to launch direct flights to other cities of Iran”.

M. Vaezi told that he visits Azerbaijan to attend “Bakutel-2016” exhibition-conference and that about 10 Iranian companies attended the exhibition. Iranian minister noted that he had discussion on development of bilateral ties between two countries with the President of Azerbaijan.
