Mikayil Jabbarov: Share of SMEs in Azerbaijan's GDP will reach 60%

According to the Strategic Plan covering 2022-2026, the share of small and medium businesses (SMEs) in the gross domestic product (GDP) in Azerbaijan will reach 60%, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov told the EU-Azerbaijan business forum in Baku, Report informs.

Besides, Jabbarov said, in the next four years, the share of SMEs in employment in Azerbaijan will reach 70%, and the share of non-oil exports will be 40%.

"Azerbaijan's foreign trade is expected to reach a record level this year, with EU countries making an exceptional contribution. Over the past ten years, foreign direct investment in Azerbaijan from more than 700 EU companies has exceeded 20 billion euros," he noted.
