Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan and Egypt mull deepening partnership

A meeting of business circles of Azerbaijan and Egypt has been held in Cairo, organized jointly by the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), Report informs referring to AZPROMO.

The event was attended by representatives of companies from both countries operating in industry, food, pharmaceutical, construction and other industries.

Speaking at the meeting, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Egypt Elkhan Polukhov expressed confidence that the partnership between the countries, based on common political and economic interests, would develop.

GAFI President Hossam Heiba noted the importance of expanding direct contacts between business circles and the participation of the private sector in the initiatives of both countries in order to effectively use bilateral business and investment opportunities. Azerbaijani businessmen were invited to work in Egypt.

As part of the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between AZPROMO and GAFI on the executive program in the field of investment promotion for 2023-2025, representatives of GAFI, the Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ) and the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) made presentations.
