Discussions to be held on activity of Iranian physicians in Azerbaijan

Baku. 27 December. REPORT.AZ/ "Khudaferin" and "Giz Galasi" agreements, signed in the 10th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Iran State Commission, have already been ratified by the Iranian side.

Report informs, Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev told reporters.

According to the minister, parliaments of both countries have ratified the agreement "On construction and operation of "Ordubad" and "Marazad" hydroelectric power plants" between Azerbaijan and Iran. These agreements are of great political and economic importance. The first stage of a joint North-South international transport corridor is already being implemented. Construction of railway bridge on Astara river, which is an important part of Azerbaijani transport corridor, and 8.3 km railway from "Astara" station to the Iranian border is nearing completion. The Iranian side will finish works on its territory as soon as possible".

Sh.Mustafayev added that railway bridge on Astara river will be completed until end of this year: "Also, discussions of the agreement on construction of Rasht-Astara railway will continue. Construction of pharmaceutical plant, which foundation will be laid in Baku in the first half of January, will develop cooperation between the two countries in the health field. In addition, Azerbaijan and Iran will conduct additional discussions in this field. The main topic of the discussion will be launch of activity of Iranian physicians in our local hospitals."
