The artwork of Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) "The Woman in the hat", written by the Spanish artist in 1941, sold at the Heffel Fine Art Auction House in Toronto for 9.1 million Canadian dollars (6.9 million US dollars), Report informs citing the TASS.

The painting was done in oil on canvas. Picasso's muse and lover, Dora Maar was described on the work. The description of the lot states that this painting is "from a well-known European collection, which has a long history of exhibiting at various exhibitions, including the Kutz gallery in New York in 1956." Before the auction, the picture was estimated at 8-10 million Canadian dollars (6-7.5 million US dollars).

It is noted that Picasso's paintings are among the most expensive artworks in the world.
