MP: Our national and moral values protected, promoted at state level in Azerbaijan

"The state's attitude to religion has constantly developed in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan has always paid great attention and care to our religion and national-moral values. President Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva have always been very sensitive to this issue, and the protection of our national and moral values has been one of the priorities of the state policy. We feel this attention and care in the liberated territories as well," MP Jeyhun Mammadov told Report.

He said that President Ilham Aliyev, as well as Mehriban Aliyeva, have always been sensitive and attentive to religious places of worship during their visits to Shusha and Aghdam:

"We remember the visit to Aghdam Mosque and Shusha Mosque well. In fact, President and Mehriban Aliyeva presented the Holy Quran books to both Aghdam and Shusha mosques. At the same time, it should be noted that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation is carrying out large-scale landscaping and construction work in the liberated territories. Today, the Zangilan mosque, Aghdam mosque, and mosques in Shusha are being repaired and restored through the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. As a result of the policy pursued in Azerbaijan, with the direct attention and care of President Ilham Aliyev, with the active participation of Mehriban Aliyeva in this process, high-level landscaping and construction work was carried out in Bibiheybat, Taza Pir, Shamakhi Juma mosques. Today, as a result of this policy, Azerbaijan has become a place where beautiful mosques are built. Today, Bibi-Heybat Mosque, as well as Taza Pir Mosque, Shamakhi Juma Mosque, amaze every person and every visitor to our country."

Mammadov also noted that one of the most outstanding services of President Ilham Aliyev in the field of religious activity is the establishment of the Theology Institute of Azerbaijan:

"The state covers all expenses in this institute. In a short time, the Theology Institute of Azerbaijan has become one of the region's leading higher religious educational institutions. All this gives reason to say that in the policy and steps taken by President Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva, attention and care for our national and moral values are at the forefront. Today, at the state level, our national and moral values are protected and promoted in Azerbaijan with the great attention and care of Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva, and important steps are being taken in this direction."
