The majority of cases of information environment contamination directed against Azerbaijan consist of speculations made over human rights, said Natig Mammadli, Deputy Executive Director of the Media Development Agency (MEDIA) of Azerbaijan, Report informs.
Mammadli shared this insight at an awareness session under the theme Media and Human Rights held for media representatives jointly by the Institute of Law and Human Rights and MEDIA within the framework of Human Rights Month.
According to him, positive dynamics are observed within the framework of awareness sessions conducted with media representatives on human rights: "Human rights are a priority. Admittedly, there are some shortcomings, particularly encountered in information related to children's rights and adolescents."
The official stated that there are certain threats and cases of information environment contamination directed against Azerbaijan: "The majority consist of speculations made over human rights. If our media can properly build the principle of human rights and its correct coverage, it will also make a great contribution to shaping Azerbaijan's international image."
Mammadli touched upon the draft law brought up for discussion regarding the protection of children from harmful information on social networks in Azerbaijan: "The Azerbaijani state wants its new generation to be raised in a healthy manner, in accordance with statehood ethics, family, and national-moral values. This is an issue that depends on our future."
