Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev met on July 13 with Uzbek officials during the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, Report informs.
The meeting was attended by Kobuljon Akhmedov, Director of the Center for Mass Media Content Production under the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan; Akramjon Fozilov, First Deputy Head of the Communications Department of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan; Dilshod Saidjanov, department head at the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan; and Tokhir Umarov, department head at the Center for Mass Media Content Production under the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan.
The meeting emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are of a strategic partnership nature. In this regard, the sincere and trust-based relations between the presidents of the two countries were noted as playing an important role in the development of ties.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the fields of information and media. It was noted that the holding of media forums and forums of non-governmental organizations in both countries contributes to the further expansion of mutual ties. The implementation of joint grant projects for NGOs of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan was also highlighted with satisfaction.
The meeting discussed the preparation and exchange of joint media content, the expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijani and Uzbek media outlets, and the establishment of direct contacts between bloggers.
The sides also noted the importance of implementing joint projects aimed at promoting the two countries' common history, culture, traditions and spiritual values internationally.
The Uzbek delegation highly appreciated the importance of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum and congratulated Azerbaijan on the successful organization of the event. The guests expressed particular satisfaction with President Ilham Aliyev's direct dialogue with journalists during the forum and his open answers to numerous questions from media representatives.
They also highly praised the important messages voiced by the head of state on the development of Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan relations.
