Turnover of mutual tourism services in Azerbaijan increases by almost 46%

In January-June 2023, the turnover of mutual tourism services in Azerbaijan increased by 45.7% and amounted to $1.1 billion, Report informs, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

As a result of the excess of imports ($589.4 million) over exports ($488.2 million) for tourism services during the reporting period, a deficit of $101.2 million was formed. During this period, the number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad increased by 16.3%, and the number of foreign citizens arriving in Azerbaijan increased by 43.9%.

The volume of tourism services provided by foreign countries to residents of Azerbaijan amounted to $488.2 million. Of these, 71.5% were associated with personal visits by Azerbaijani citizens.
