Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau applies own star grading system to hotels

"The classification of star grading to hotels is based on the European-approved standards," Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB), told journalists, Report says.

According to Florian Sengstschmid, the process of star grading certificates to hotels is also carried out in Georgia and Turkey.

"We believe that these standards are as honest and fair as possible. The process is very transparent. Unfortunately, not all hotels passed the first stage. But in the next stage, we will provide them with necessary support for star grading."

This is our own local brand and we have not taken it from any country. Even other countries are applying to us to benefit from this experience," Florian Sengstschmid added.
