Azerbaijan was introduced as a new destination at the Slow Food Travel forum held on March 6, Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau (ATB) told Report.
ATB CEO Florian Sengstschmid also attended the forum, which was organized by the Terra Madre network of the Slow Food Organization.
He said that the forum participants developed the idea of holding the slow food project in Azerbaijan and spoke about existing opportunities in the country.
According to him, the promotion of travel opportunities on the slow food project aims to present special and delicious meals of Azerbaijan, show how these meals are cooked.
Also informing about the COVCHEG project, Mr. Sengstschmid noted that the project serves the promotion of the true value of the food products, preservation of biodiversity, as well as the creation of an additional source of income for small and medium food producers.

COVCHEG is funded by the EU. The project aims to support community-based initiatives and traditional employments in the villages of Azerbaijan.
