ATAA: Fines of various airlines against Azerbaijani tourism companies removed

The Association of Azerbaijan Tourism Agencies (ATAA) collected about 41,000 manats ($24,110) from the membership fee, ATAA Board Chairman Goydaniz Kahramanov said at the annual reporting event of the Association, Report informs.

Kahramanov noted that this amount was collected from more than 130 agencies:

"Fines have been issued to ATAA members from various airlines. Over the past year, we managed to remove those fines. Also, as a result of our efforts, more than 1 million manats ($580,000) in commissions were transferred from various airlines to the accounts of our commission members."

In his speech, the ATAA official noted that there are still some problems: "These are mainly problems related to obtaining visas and the fact that air tickets to some destinations are still expensive."
