Azerbaijan national chess team to partake in world championship

The Azerbaijani men's chess team will take part in the World Championship in Israel in April, Report informs, citing President of the Azerbaijani Chess Federation Mahir Mammadov.

Mahir Mammadov noted that the Azerbaijani team was invited to the World Chess Championship: "Last year, the women's team played at the championship although the team's performance was not so successful. At that time, the team managed to qualify from the group, but our representatives lost their first playoff game. At the competition in Israel, we are planning to be represented by the strongest players. The names of the players and the team captain will be made public in the coming days."
