There should be no compromise on food safety, said head of the World Health Organization (WHO) office in Azerbaijan, Hande Harmanci, speaking at the international event “Improving food standards in Europe and Central Asia and expanding participation in Codex,” Report informs.
"Food must be safe and of high quality. Otherwise, it poses a threat to the health of millions of people,” she said.
She noted that it is necessary to adapt to innovation: “There is a need to strike the right balance between innovation and safety. There is a need to develop a unified health vision. Our work is not limited to passing legislation. We must take sustainable action in the field of food safety.”
