Minimum pension in Azerbaijan will be AZN 200 beginning October 1

According to the law “On Amending the "Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Labor Pensions" approved by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, starting tomorrow - October 1, the minimum amount of the labor pension in the country will increase from AZN 160 to AZN 200, Report informs citing the department of public relations and communications of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.

From October 1, the minimum pension of AZN 200 will cover 660,000 pensioners. So, the second social package proposed by the head of state this year ensured a serious growth in pensions of more than 750,000 pensioners, which was generally an important step in strengthening social protection of the population.
