A presentation ceremony of a book reflecting the life and legacy of the Prophet Muhammad was held in Baku.
Report informs that the book "Al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah" talks about the life and activities of the Messenger of God, as well as his legacy.
Abdulmalik ibn Hisham's book "Al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah" is considered one of the most important works of the Islamic world and is translated into Azerbaijani for the first time.
Representatives of the State Committee on Work with Religious Institutions of Azerbaijan, public figures and media representatives attended the presentation ceremony.
Nahid Mammadov, Head of the Expertise Department of the committee, spoke about the importance of translating and publishing the book in question into Azerbaijani.
Heybat Heybatov, co-author of the book, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, spoke about the translation process. He pointed out that it was no coincidence that the presentation was held during the month of Ramadan: "The book describes in detail more than 500 events, including the early life of the Prophet Muhammad, his migration to Medina, and his return to Mecca."
Mais Aghaverdiyev, another co-author of the translation, said that the work provides the reader with comprehensive information about the historical events that occurred during the life of the Messenger of God and extensive knowledge about the period of the formation of Islam.
The book was published under the scientific supervision of Vugar Garadaghly, head of the Arabic language department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Baku State University, Doctor of Philology.
The biography of the Prophet Muhammad was first written by Muhammad ibn Ishaq al-Madani (699-769). Since Ibn Ishaq is considered the closest source to the time period in which the Messenger of God lived, Ibn Hisham, the author of “Al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah”, refers to this work in his narration.
"As-Sira an-Nabawiyya" is considered the most accurate source reflecting the life of the Prophet Muhammad in the Islamic world after the holy books and hadiths, and is considered the third most reliable source of Islamic knowledge after the Holy Quran and hadiths in terms of importance.
The book, published for charity within the framework of a social project, was published by Sharg-Garb OJSC with the consent of the State Committee on Work with Religious Institutions.
The presented work is on sale in many bookstores, including Ali and Nino, Libraff and Baku Book Center chains.
