Allahshukur Pashazade: Patriarch of Georgia has always been on Azerbaijan's side

Relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia are an example for the whole world, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims' Board (CMB) Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade said in a meeting with the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II, Report informs.

Allahshukur Pashazade expressed great satisfaction with the meeting, and noted that the political, religious and economic relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia are developing at a high level.

Sheikhulislam said that the supreme religious leaders of Azerbaijan and Georgia have done great things for the integrity of the Caucasus and the welfare of the peoples both during the Soviet period and during the years of independence:

"Just as Azerbaijan supports Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, Georgia also supports Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity. I hope that we will do many more things together. As an elder of the Caucasus, you have always been with Azerbaijan. Because you were on the side of the truth. I wish you long life and good health from the Almighty Allah."

Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade conveyed the greetings of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva to Patriarch Ilia II.

Pashazade expressed hope that the Patriarch of Georgia would visit Azerbaijan.
