Zelenskyy: Ukraine against freezing conflict with Russia

Ukraine is against freezing the conflict with Russia, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at the Wall Street Journal CEO Council Summit, Report informs referring to Ukrainian media.

Speaking about a possible ceasefire, he said that this does not mean that Russian troops will stand where they are now.

The president of Ukraine noted that the Minsk agreements led to a frozen conflict: “I am against it, there will definitely not be such a document. We did not withdraw from the Minsk agreements, Russia withdrew from it on February 24. They left and Ukraine will definitely not go into such a swamp again.”

At the same time, Zelenskyy said that he doesn’t see the desire of the Russian Federation to achieve a ceasefire: “If we have a meeting with President Putin, maybe we will agree with him personally. He must take on obligations to ceasefire, preferably public ones, then we can believe in it. First, we need to take appropriate steps to stop the war, and then diplomacy will take effect,” he said.
