Zelenskyy: Pressure on Russia from US could lead to ceasefire

Russia may agree to a complete ceasefire with Ukraine without additional conditions. But this requires pressure from the United States, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, Report informs via Ukrainian media.

"Ukraine has demonstrated - and everyone emphasizes this - readiness for a complete and unconditional ceasefire. Increased pressure and dialogue between Americans and the Russian side will still lead to a ceasefire," he noted.

He also said that Ukraine opposes lifting sanctions on Russia for a ceasefire. And this position is supported by the European Union countries.

Ukrainian and American officials at a meeting in Saudi Arabia in March discussed an initiative for a complete 30-day ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.
