Russia’s interaction with Armenia is built within the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) on a pragmatic, mutually beneficial basis, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing, answering a question from News.ru, Report informs.
“From year to year, high rates of growth in the economic indicators of Armenia itself are observed, Yerevan receives significant dividends from its participation in the union,” she said.
According to Zakharova, despite some controversial statements, Russia is building a constructive, depoliticized dialogue with Armenia, as well as with the rest of the EurAsEC member countries.
“From January 1, the chairmanship of the bodies passes to Armenia; the prime minister of Armenia, speaking at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on December 25 in St. Petersburg, announced Yerevan’s focus on fully implementing tasks in the medium and long term. We support the spirit of our partners, aimed at strengthening the development of Eurasian economic integration,” she added.
