Activity of the trilateral working group on unblocking communications in the South Caucasus has been frozen due to Armenia, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing today, Report informs.
"Unfortunately, at present, work in the group, alas, I have to voice this because these are the facts, is frozen due to the position of the Armenian side. We confirm our readiness to resume full-fledged interaction," she noted.
Zakharova emphasized that the group had done "colossal work on coordinating both legal foundations and technical parameters for restoring transport routes between Armenia and Azerbaijan."
"It was in the trilateral working group that agreements were reached on the basic principle of unblocking communications. It consists in maintaining sovereignty, I repeat once again, and jurisdiction of states over routes passing through this territory. And this condition was approved by both Baku and Yerevan," the diplomat stated.
