War as seen by Kyiv residents: This is a crime against humanity

"Our city is bombed. This is a crime against humanity," Kyiv resident Borys Lesenko told Report's Eastern European bureau.

He said: "In our time, in our civilized world, no one expected such cruel and barbaric methods to be used in warfare. Besides residential buildings, hospitals, critical infrastructure, bombs are dropped on civilians, residents, and children die. It's just that there is no corridor for the evacuation of the sick and wounded. This is unprecedented. But we are Ukrainians, and we do not give our land to anyone. This war is sacred to us. We will not allow anyone to occupy our territory."

Another resident, Olga Tyulpina, said: "We have a very bad attitude towards this situation. What happened is terrible. I hope that all this will end soon; everyone will survive."

Filip Derevyashenko, a resident of Kyiv who has lived in the capital city for 25 years, sounds more upbeat: "Personally, I am in a good mood. We are not going anywhere; we are here, in our city. We believe in our soldiers and defenders. Everything will be fine."
