Volunteers from all over the world come to Ukraine and join the ranks of the International Legion to fight against the Russian occupiers. Currently, citizens of 52 countries are fighting for Ukraine, Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar said, citing the Legion’s press secretary Anton Mironovich, Report informs via UNIAN.

The deputy minister explained that after resolving legal issues, foreign military personnel are given equipment and weapons. Further, the legionnaires undergo special training, and then military units are formed.

As of March 10, volunteers from 52 countries were fighting in Ukraine. They are mainly from Poland, the Baltic countries, Scandinavia, the UK, and the US.
