The US Senate passed a resolution calling on the State Department to recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism for its wars in Chechnya, Georgia, Syria and Ukraine, Report informs via UNIAN.
The document accuses the Russian government of conducting a terrorist campaign, using force against civilians in the second Chechen war, air strikes on Syria, and supporting separatism in the Donbas region of Ukraine since 2014.
The document reads that the US Senate evaluates the steps taken by the Russian authorities on the basis of Vladimir Putin's instructions as acts sponsoring terrorism.
The resolution also includes the call of the Senate to the US Secretary of State to have the Russian Federation on the list of states that sponsor terrorism.
