Türkiye’s first aviation plant to reopen

Türkiye’s first aviation plant for the production of parts for aircraft and helicopters TOMTAŞ will resume work in the province of Kayseri, Report informs referring to Anadolu Agency.

An investment of 205 million liras has been made to restart the plant built in the Melikgazi area. At the first stage, TOMTAŞ will employ 50 people.

The enterprise is a joint project of ASFAT, Erciyes Teknopark, Türk Havacılık ve Uzay Sanayii and TOMTAŞ.

The plant plans to produce fuselages, wings, doors, control panels and other aircraft parts, as well as helicopter propellers and engine parts.

“In general, about 205 million liras were invested in the resumption of the plant’s work. The enterprise will be able to produce about 420 kg of products annually. In total, equipment will be purchased for more than $10.2 million,” the publication says.

The project is assessed as an investment of regional importance, in this regard, the government will provide a number of benefits, including exemption from customs duties, low interest on loans, VAT exemption, tax cuts by 80%, etc.
