"My decision not to go to Scotland is not for my own safety, but for the trust of our country," Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, clarifying the reason for not attending the Glasgow Climate Change Conference in an interview with reporters on his way back home from the G20 summit in Rome, Report informs, citing TRT Haber.

"There were safety protocol standards that we demanded for the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow. These are protocol standards that are always applied to us and other leaders during our international visits. However, at the last moment, it was said that this would not apply to us. Later, we learned that the standards we were refused to were applied to other countries as an exception," he said.
