Kazakhstan aims to increase trade turnover with China to $100 billion per year, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said while receiving Deputy Prime Minister of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Liu Guozhong, Report informs.

“Kazakhstan has been and remains a reliable partner of China. Taking bilateral relations with China to a new level is a top priority for Kazakhstan. China is Kazakhstan's leading trade and economic partner, ranking first in terms of bilateral trade volume. At the end of 2023, this figure reached a record $40 billion. We have set the goal of bringing trade turnover to $100 billion. We believe that this figure is quite achievable,” said the President of Kazakhstan.

According to the press service of President Tokayev, during the conversation, the current state and prospects for the development of the Kazakh-Chinese strategic partnership, and the progress of the previously reached agreements’ implementation by the governments of the two countries were discussed. The prospects for strengthening cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, agriculture, transport and logistics, energy and tourism were considered.
