In Kazakhstan, on the territory of the military unit in Arys, where a fire and explosions began in munition depots on June 24, afterglow is underway and the threat of explosions remains, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan Yuri Ilyin said at a briefing.

Report informs citing Interfax that, according to him, the place of the fire was examined with military drones in the morning. At present, the city of Arys, where all people were evacuated yesterday, has been cordoned off.

The Interior Minister stressed that local residents are not allowed there because of the continuing threat to their lives and explained that the city is unexploded ordnance that arrived from the warehouse.

According to the Minister, nearly 41,000 citizens left the city. 39,000 left on their own, while 2,815 people were evacuated.

Two people were killed- one soldier and one civilian, whose car was hit by a shell. Following the explosions, 165 people applied for medical help, 89 of them were hospitalized and 15 were in intensive care, the press service of the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan reported.
