The government of Tajikistan temporarily closed borders to all foreign nationals to prevent the coronavirus from entering the country, according to the Foreign Ministry.
All foreigners, excluding diplomats accredited in the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of international organizations and financial institutions, as well as their family members, are banned from entering and leaving the country, says the Tajik Ministry.
To date, Tajikistan reported no cases of coronavirus infection, although the virus has already spread to neighboring Central Asian republics.
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to 210 countries and territories since then.
