The summit of the Organization of Turkic States will be held on November 11 this year in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said at the first meeting of the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan-Turkiye dialogue format in Tashkent, Report informs.
“Uzbekistan, for the first time, will chair the Organization of Turkic States. We believe that the summit in Samarkand will open a new page in the cooperation of our countries,” Cavusoglu noted.
The Turkish minister said that the relations between Ankara and Tashkent are a large-scale strategic partnership, and the dialogue between Turkiye and Azerbaijan is at the level of an alliance.
Referring to economic cooperation, the Foreign Minister said that Turkiye recorded an increase in trade with Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
“At the end of 2021, trade with Azerbaijan reached $5 billion, and with Uzbekistan - $3.6 billion. Ankara aims to further increase these figures to the $10 billion set by the leaders of our countries,” Cavusoglu stressed.
He noted that Turkiye aims to further develop ties with the Turkic states on the basis of mutual benefit and respect for interests.
