Speaker: Some foreign diplomats interfere in Georgia's internal politics

Some foreign diplomats are interfering in Georgia's internal affairs, Georgian Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said, Report informs.

Papuashvili emphasized that no one has come to Georgia as a supervisor or governor-general, and diplomats should not interfere in political processes according to the Vienna Convention.

The speaker noted that the European Union ambassador to Georgia and some European politicians have interfered in the election processes and openly supported the opposition. According to him, financing the opposition's election campaigns through NGOs is also part of this interference.

Shalva Papuashvili said that the European Commission assesses the political instability in Georgia as a factor hindering economic development, but at the same time, Brussels supports radical groups in Georgia.

Noting that the expulsion of ambassadors from Georgia is not on the agenda, Papuashvili called on diplomats not to interfere in political processes and to properly represent their countries in Georgia.
