Russian police officers will soon be granted the right to enter the homes and other premises of migrants facing deportation without hindrance.
Report informs via TASS that, according to a new law set to come into force on March 5, police officers will have the authority to request information and documents from government bodies and foreign authorities necessary for state control over migrants. This includes access to commercial, banking, tax, and other legally protected secrets.
Furthermore, the police will be able to obtain information from banks regarding the existence and numbers of bank accounts held by migrants facing deportation, as well as monitor the movement of funds in these accounts.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs employees will also be empowered to conduct surveillance on foreign citizens under the deportation regime, including the use of technical means. This provision extends to individuals and legal entities providing assistance to such foreigners during their stay in Russia.
The police will have the right to utilize data from mobile devices, geolocation, payment systems, and facial recognition technology as part of their enhanced monitoring capabilities.
