Russia's last oil company in Iran leaves the country

Baku. 31 October. REPORT.AZ/ Zarubejneft, the last Russian oil company in Iran, has left the country.

Report informs citing Interfax that the company was founded by ZN-Vostok in September 2017.

In March this year Zarubejneft signed a contract with the Iranian National Oil Company on service to Aban and West Peydar fields. The contract was granted to ZN-Vostok. The company opened an office in Tehran in April this year.

Zarubejneft has withdrawn from all the projects in Iran due to the US sanctions on Iran's energy sector upcoming on November 4. The company refused to comment on the information.

Notably, the US will launch the second phase of sanctions to cover Iran's energy sector from November 4. The first phase of US sanctions on Iran was imposed in August of this year.
