Russia may withdraw from the Arctic Council, Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador at Large Nikolay Korchunov said, Report informs citing the local press.
According to him, the council operates at a minimal level, and the efforts of the current chairman of the organization, Norway, to fully restore its work are not supported by other participants. Korchunov noted that if the activity of the Arctic Council does not correspond to Moscow's interests, Russia should leave the organization: "Accordingly, we should have all options for maneuvers in foreign policy."
