Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold the annual meeting of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights under the President on December 7 via videoconference, Report informs referring to Interfax.

Putin’s spokesman announced the meeting on December 5, without giving an exact date.

“Members of the Council will talk about their work in 2022, in particular, about various aspects of human rights assistance to the conduct of a special military operation and the integration of new subjects of the Federation, the harmonization of economic legislation, the situation of medical workers and advocacy,” the report says.

“Traditionally, during the meetings of the HRC, an active exchange of views takes place between the president and members of the Council on a wide range of issues related to the activities of this advisory body under the head of state, created to facilitate the implementation of its constitutional powers to protect the rights and freedoms of persons and citizens.”

In mid-November, Putin removed human rights activists Igor Kalyapin and Natalia Evdokimova, journalists Nikolai Svanidze, Ekaterina Vinokurova, Alexander Verkhovsky, Ivan Zasursky and psychologist Alexander Asmolov from the HRC.
