Putin, Erdogan discuss Alaska meeting and Ukraine talks

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss the outcome of his recent talks with US President Donald Trump in Anchorage, Alaska, Report informs, citing the Kremlin press service.
“President Putin shared his assessment of the Russia-US meeting held in Anchorage on August 15,” the Kremlin noted. The two leaders also discussed recent developments in the situation surrounding Ukraine.
The Russian side expressed appreciation for Türkiye’s continued mediation efforts in facilitating negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian representatives in Istanbul.
The conversation also touched on key bilateral issues, including the further development of trade and investment cooperation.
The leaders agreed to maintain personal contacts.
