Pope calls on Armenia, Azerbaijan to start peace dialogue

Pope Francis has urged the parties to implement the ceasefire agreement on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, Report informs via TASS.

The Pope emphasized the importance of dialogue to reduce tension:

“I was very shocked by the news about the recent clashes between Azerbaijan and Armenia. I express my spiritual closeness to the relatives of the deceased and call on the parties to respect the ceasefire. Peace becomes possible when they put down their weapons and start a dialogue.”
