Polish farmers may block border with Germany

Polish farmers, along with closing the border with Ukraine, may also block the border with Germany.

Report informs via Polish media that farmers will continue to block the S3 road, with the protest likely to last until March 20. They plan to completely block traffic on the border with Germany and go on strike around the clock.

The truck traffic may be diverted. However, farmers' plans may change as entrepreneurs opposed the blocking of highways. The petition to the mayor of the border town of Slubice was sent by the owners of transport companies, gas stations, auto repair shops, warehouses, etc.

International shipping companies are also threatening farmers with lawsuits for damages.

Protests on the Polish-Ukrainian border resumed in February. Farmers are blocking checkpoints, they recently announced a "total blockade" of the border, and have also begun pouring out Ukrainian grain. In this regard, the Ukrainian Embassy in Poland sent an official note to the Polish authorities demanding that those involved in the grain incident be brought to justice.
