Number of Azerbaijani-speaking schools in Georgia announced

Tbilisi. 17 September. REPORT.AZ/ 80 Azerbaijani-speaking schools operate in Georgia, Education Management Information System of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia told Report’s local correspondent.

Number of pupils in these schools during 2107-2018 academic year made up 15,150 people.

At the same time, Azerbaijani sectors operate in 38 public schools of Georgia, in which 9,852 pupils studied last year. Moreover, two private schools have been allowed to open the Azerbaijani sector.

The number of pupils in Azerbaijani-speaking schools and Azerbaijani sector of public schools in 2018-2019 academic year is still unknown.
