Norwegian envoy summoned to Georgian Foreign Ministry over awarding Saakashvili

Norwegian Ambassador to Tbilisi Helene Sand Andresen has been summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in connection with the awarding the Sjur Lindebrække Prize to ex-President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili in Oslo for achievements in the field of democracy and human rights, Report informs referring to TASS.

The diplomat has already left the Foreign Ministry without commenting to journalists.

Saakashvili was awarded the Norwegian Prize on March 25. At the ceremony in Oslo, the award was handed over to the mother of former President Giuli Alasania and son Nikoloz.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said on March 27 that awarding Saakashvili is tantamount to handing over the award to the Norwegian terrorist Anders Breivik, who killed more than 70 people.
