Moscow says bilateral Ukraine-Azerbaijan ties - sovereign right of two countries

Building bilateral ties, including between Ukraine and Azerbaijan, is a sovereign right of the two countries unless they target the third parties, Spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said.

Report informs, citing RIA Novosti, that Zakharova was commenting on the outcomes of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Kyiv.

"We take this principled stance in building contacts with other countries, and we expect the same approach from our partners," Zakharova told a briefing.

She reminded that Aliyev's visit to Baku was discussed during the telephone conversation of the Russian and Azerbaijani leaders on January 18, which took place at Baku's initiative.
