More than 600 people hospitalized with flu virus in Georgia

Tbilisi. 9 January. REPORT.AZ/ Nearly 640 people have been hospitalized with flu virus in Georgia, Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia David Sergeyenko said.

He said that 39 of the patients are in the intensive care unit: “According to today's data, indicators are good compared to yesterday. Hospitalization cases dropped by about 100. It's a good dynamics. The number of new infections has declined, but the condition of those infected remains severe."

Regarding the closure of kindergartens and schools due to the flu, Sergeenko said consultations were held on this issue.

Notably, 13 people have died from A (H1N1) virus, called swine flu, in Georgia. 158 cases of infection have been confirmed in the country.
