Mikheil Saakashvili said taken away in unknown direction

Yelyzaveta Yasko, a member of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, and the girlfriend of Georgia’s ex-president Mikhail Saakashvili, said that the politician was taken out of the city of Gori in an unknown direction, Report informs, citing her Facebook post.

On Wednesday evening, Yasko announced that the politician was in critical condition.

"There is information that Mikheil Saakashvili was taken out of Gori! In an unknown direction! SOS! The lawyers confirmed that he is not in Gori! Nobody knows his state [of health] and the direction [where he was taken]!" Yasko noted.

On Monday, the politician, who was undergoing medical treatment at the Gori military hospital after a long hunger strike, said that men in black uniforms had entered and announced the decision to take him out of the military hospital. The Special Penitentiary Service of the Georgian Justice Ministry announced that the department decided to postpone his transfer to a special institution in Rustavi.
