Mikheil Saakashvili attacked in Athens

Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili was beaten in the Greek capital, Athens, Report says, referring to RIA Novosti.

He met with Georgian immigrants in the Greek capital. An unknown young man attacked him in front of the building where the event was held and punched him several times in the skull. Several others were injured in the incident.

Despite all this, he met with his compatriots and informed them about his political plans.

Saakashvili has been the head of the Executive Committee of the National Reform Council of Ukraine since May 2020. One of the reasons behind the attack could be related to Azerbaijan. In his speech, Saakashvili expressed support for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. Since Greece and Armenia have the same position on the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh, it is possible that Armenians or Greeks who support them committed it. The fact that the police arrived late and did not intervene increases the likelihood that the beating was premeditated.
